The Effectiveness of (TEACCH) Program in Visual-Motor Imitation of Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Abstract

The current research aimed to recognize the effectiveness of the (TEACCH) program in the development of visual-motor imitation of children with autistic spectrum disorder. The research targeted children with spectrum autism disorder. The sample consisted of (10) children all of whom were males were chosen randomly and their ages ranged between (3-6) years. The children were distributed among two groups as experimental group of (5) children and control group of (5) children. It used educational-psychology profile battery -the third edition which is called (PEP-3). The visual-motor imitation scale was adopted as a tool to collect data as the standard scale in educational-psychology profile battery -the third edition (2014). In addition to the use of (CARS ST-2) scale to determine the level of (ASD) disorder. Moreover, the study results indicated the presence of significant differences of static indication between the degrees of members of the individuals of experimental group to measure the visual-motor imitation between the preand post-tests and in favor of the post-test. There is no difference founded of statistic indication of the degrees of members of individuals in the control group of visual-motor imitation scale. There are significant differences between the averages of the degrees of members of the individuals of experimental and control groups in the post scale for the benefit of the experimental group.
