Abstract

This research focuses on the analysis of ideology and language in Chomsky's political articles to register if there is any difference in the writer ideology before and after Iraqi War. Unlike other prior studies done on ideology, this study is different due to its unique data set which is Chomsky's Articles. The study tries to answer the following questions: What do the microstructures and meso structures reveal about Chomsky concerning the Iraqi War? What is the ideology of the writer? The study aims at identifying the ideology of the writer and discovering whether the writer changes his view after the war. To achieve the aims, the study proposes a number of hypotheses. It is hypothesized that Chomsky manipulates the language in different ways in order to serve his ideology; and that Chomsky's ideology does not change after the war. The study comes to the conclusion that and after analyzing the data, that at the micro and meso levels, the analysis shows that Chomsky manipulates the language in different ways in order to serve his ideology. Chomsky's ideology was the same before and after the war.
