Abstract

The declining farmer productivity and evidenced by several regions in Indonesia showing a decline in agricultural production is an exciting thing to study. Moreover, there is still limited research related to the factors that cause a decrease in farmers' productivity. This study analyses different agricultural extension agent quality and teamwork in influencing farmer productivity and examines the indirect effect of the relationship between rural extension agent quality and farmer productivity mediated by collaboration. This study uses a quantitative approach with a sample of 122 agricultural extension workers. The technique of determining the model that will operate as a respondent is by accidental sampling. Furthermore, for data collection using a questionnaire containing statement items on each parameter of the variables studied. The data analysis used is the SEM-AMOS version 22 analysis technique and the online Sobel test. Based on the results of data analysis that have carried out, the findings of this study proved that agricultural extension agent quality has an essential role in influencing teamwork improvement. On the other hand, agricultural extension agent quality is not strong enough to affect farmer productivity. However, agricultural extension agent quality can indirectly increase farmer productivity through teamwork, although the effect is also not significant. Therefore, a partnership can improve farmer productivity in the future, if it can further enhance agricultural extension agent quality and collaboration.
