Answering Questions in Arabic and English

Abstract

Questions and answers are the salt and sugar of language. They open a gate for guided understanding among communicators. The present study aims at identifying similarities and differences between English and Arabic in terms of how to answer questions. To achieve this aim, the present study reviews the system of questions and answers related to each type of question. The contrastive analysis reveals that English and Arabic are similar more than being different.
