Abstract

  • Modern history is full of events that generations will remember, as the Arab Spring revolutions were among the most prominent events shaped by modern history, as people sought democracy and liberated themselves from tyranny, and the Arab Spring revolutions succeeded in overthrowing the ruling regimes in Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya. In turn, it led to the creation of new equations for the Arab Spring countries, which will directly and indirectly affect social, political, and economic life. This paper seeks to shed light on the modern history of political reform in the Arab region after the events of the Arab Spring. The objectives of this paper are to identify the nature of the factors and causes that contributed to the outbreak of the contemporary Arab revolutions, to get to know the history of the political reform process in the Arab region before the events of the Arab Spring, and to study and analyze political reforms in the Arab region after the events of the Arab Spring. The importance of this study stems from the prevailing thoughts of intellectuals and decision-makers in the Arab world on historical issues related to change and democratic reform. The study provides an opportunity for those interested and researchers to learn how to move from traditional to modern societies through the process of political reform. The study used descriptive, analytical, and historical approaches to gather information. The results show that the Arab Spring revolutions succeeded in overthrowing the ruling regimes in Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya. The situation will lead to the creation of new relations that will cast a shadow on the international relations of these countries. Researchers recommend conducting more future research on the Arab Spring and its various effects.
