Abstract

A study has been carried out to determine the growth pattern and condition factors of Chitala sp (Belida Fish) in the Subayang River, Kampar Regency, Riau Province from January to December 2019. 112 Chilata sp samples obtained from the community catches were measured for length and weight to determine growth patterns and condition factors. During the study, the length of Chilata sp was ranging from 490 to 1010 mm, while the weight was ranging from 850 to 7900 grams. The obtained data were analyzed and showed that the weight gain of Chilata sp in the Subayang River was faster than the increase in body length. Thus, it can be said that the Chilata sp in the Subayang River are classified as plump. To conclude, Chilata sp in the Subayang River have a positive allometric growth pattern with condition factors tending to follow the population growth pattern.
