Abstract

Textile is one of the vital sectors of Indian industries and the scope of which is increasing day by day. Tirupur also observed as 'Knit City' or 'Banian City', an area that has for many years been perceived because the land renowned for its knitwear business, holds 56% share of all India knitwear exports. Textile has grown up to the peak of the patron needs which demands the quality assured & sustainable characteristics to further meet the competency within the market. ZDM aims in minimizing the failure quantity within a manufacturing process which provides final faultless products. This study is done to understand the importance of quality in a garment industry and to analyse the defects that occur in manufacturing garments. The maintenance of quality in each process, the frequently and non-frequently occurring defects, the source of defects are been analysed and the possible solutions are suggested to achieve zero defect.
