Abstract

This study aims to see the CARE school program's effectiveness as a preventive attempt in bullying cases. CARE stands for Caring, Respect and Educate, which teaches about prosocial, respect, and bullying knowledge. The method used in this study was a control group design without treatment using pre-test and post-test. The research subjects were fifth-grade elementary school students aged 10-13 years, meaning 52 students, 26 students in the experimental group and the other half without treatment. Hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test. The result is that there is a significant difference in prosocial scores, responses and knowledge of bullying in the experimental group of 0.000 <0.05 compared to the scores in the control group. The post-test score on the prosocial scale is M = 26.77 and SD = 2.372, the post-test score on the respect scale is M = 25.81 and 1.855, the post-test score on the bullying knowledge scale is M = 25.88, SD = 2.304, with a significance value of 0.00 (p <0.05). The result shows that the CARE program effectively improves prosocial skills, respect, and knowledge of bullying in elementary school students. Social skills can prevent bullying and create a safe and comfortable school environment with a positive learning climate to improve school performance.
