Abstract

Indonesia is a country with diverse tribes and customs. In the midst of modern developments, the existence of customary law still maintains its existence so that legal pluralism becomes a characteristic of Indonesian nation. The objective of this research was to analyze and determine the effectiveness of the settlement of daily life disputes for Wotu tribe in East Luwu regency, South Sulawesi, that still believe their customary law in the midst of the existence of national law. This research uses empirical legal research with a Legal Anthropology approach, to understanding the community in their law including how they resolve disputes that they face, in addition to analyzing the effectiveness of dispute resolution by using customary law.
