Abstract

This study determined the level of Teacher Education faculty satisfaction along instruction, research, and extension and likewise explored institutional practices in four state universities (SUCs) in Region V, Philippines. Data were collected from 62 respondents using a validated questionnaire. Results were processed through frequency count, weighted mean, and rank. A congruent level of satisfaction was found along instruction, research, and extension which is Very Satisfactory but disparate weighted means (WM) for each were obtained, the highest of which is on instruction which is 3.7. The lowest WM of 3.57 was garnered by research. Moreover, the topmost common practice in the universities is considering performance rating as a ground for professional upgrading. Conversely, the bottommost practice, which is not popularly observed, is regular conduct of one-on-one counseling to address problems that affect functions and collegial work relations. Enhanced faculty-centered institutional practices are recommended to attain improved faculty satisfaction level which is crucial to total quality management.
