Abstract

The effect of creativity convergence class using design thinking on fostering college students' creativity convergence competency and problem solving ability was analyzed. For 15 weeks in one semester, 52 college students in an experimental group took a creativity convergence class based on the design thinking process, meanwhile 50 college students in a control group took a creative thinking development class. To measure the creativity convergence competency and problem-solving ability of college students, pre-test and post[1]test were conducted, testing the college student's creativity convergence competency and the college student's problem solving ability. As a result, it was found that the creativity convergence class based on design thinking was effective in enhancing the creativity convergence competency and problem solving ability of college students. The results of this study imply that it is needed to make and implement distinguished creativity convergence curriculums and creativity convergence classes using design thinking process, trying to develop the creativity convergence competency and problem solving ability of the college students.
