Abstract

The present study investigates the artistic structure of the Iraqi novel during the 1970s with the aim of identifying the artistic pioneering of the novel during the specified period of time. In order to achieve the aim of the present study, the researcher contrasts the historical aspect of the narrative style and dialogue of the Iraqi novel during the 1970s with the novel of pre-70s. Based on this the study is on a historical ground. Furthermore, the study also depicts the social changes and their reflections on the Iraqi novel for both generations. Thus, the study is also set on a critical perspective. Hence, to properly achieve the aims of study, the analysis is on a critical historical perspective. Furthermore, the researcher builds his argument and provides a number of novels for discussion to highlights the comparison and to best serve the aims of the study. The study ends with a number of conclusions that signifies the reflection of the social changes that helped in shaping the Iraqi novel during the 1970s which in turn made it appear as much lively and dynamic as possible.
