This study attempts to extrapolate the most prominent results and conclusions of the concept of poetry and its limits in the West, since Aristotle and Plato, through ancient times, all the way to the Renaissance, with an explanation of some poetic references for the purpose of coming up with satisfactory results that determine the nature of the literary genre based on several criteria, including various literary terms., with a brief statement on the literary, aesthetic, educational and mundane function of poetry across the ages that have a complete impact on people's lives and their relations with each other, within a transcendental cross-literary methodology that reflects the supreme value of poetry emanating from the depths of the human soul, which is looking for change, because poetry is not a limited starting point that resides in the middle of an immanent environment, but rather it goes beyond it to further limits.
