Does Education Affect Bulgarian Opinion toward Government Spending?

Abstract

This article studies the extent to which education affects Bulgarian opinion toward government spending exploiting Bulgarian Social Survey Programme dataset (B-SSP). We find that Bulgarian opinion toward government spending on environment, culture and arts is greatly affected by education. Specifically, a one additional year of education makes Bulgarian 2.3 percentage points more likely to support government spending on environment and 1.8 percentage points more likely to government spending on culture and arts.
