Abstract

The students’ incompetence in catechetical practice and the ineffectiveness of learning due to limited teaching materials and learning models in the Catechesis of the People become the main challenges in delivering Christian education. Therefore, this research aimed to develop an effective learning model to improve student competence and encourage them to learn actively. As a result, the Inholyone learning model, which emphasizes studying concrete experiences where students take a key part in the whole process, was created. The validity of the Inholyone learning model development was measured using a validation sheet instrument on the syntax construct. Its objective was to measure the construct of the learning model syntax in the Catechesis of the People course. The validation results showed the syntax of the Inholyone learning model was revised to produce seven stages, including Introduction, Concept, Holy Bible (Reviewing Bible Quotes), Deepening Holy Bible (Bible Study), Drill (Practice), Application, and Evaluation.
