The Level of Ambition and Its Relationship to Psychological and Social Adjustment among Sample of Underage Girls in Care and Protection Homes

Abstract

The present study aimed to measure the ambition and psychological and social adjustment levels of a sample consisting from several minor girls residing in care and protection homes. It explored the relationship between the level of ambition and psychological and social adjustment among this sample. The study's population consists of underage girls who were sexually abused and residing in care and protection homes. The ages of those girls are within the range of (12-18) years. It involves (20) girls. The ambition scale was used to obtain data from adolescents and young adults. It (was developed by Amal Abdel-Samie Meliji Bazha: 2004). It involves (52) items. The psychosocial and social adjustment scale was used to obtain data from children and adolescents. It was (developed by Zainab Shukair: 2003). It involves (80) items. It measures the general psychological adjustment level. The researcher concluded that there is a statistically significant correlation between the ambition and psychological and social adjustment that's connected to the dimension of personal and emotional adjustment among minor girls in care and protection homes. That's because the correlation value is (0.456*) at the statistical significance level of (0.05). The researcher found that there is a statistically significant correlation between the ambition and psychological and social adjustment that's connected with the dimension of health adjustment among minor girls in care and protection homes. That is because the correlation value is (0.504*) at a significant level (0.05). The researcher found there is a statistically significant correlation between the ambition and psychological and social adjustment that is related to the dimension of family adjustment among underage girls at care and protection homes. That is because the correlation value is (0.473 *) at the statistical significance level of (0.05). The researcher found that there is a statistically significant correlation between the ambition and psychological and social adjustment that is related to the dimension of social adjustment among the minor girls in the care and protection role. This is because the correlation value is (0.502 *) at the statistical significance level of (0.05).
