Babil Governorate is one of the wheat-producing governorates in Iraq. The research aims to focus on the factors affecting its cultivation and production, production analysis and distribution by administrative units, as well as the grain stores and the variation of this distribution between the marketing centers of the study area. The research adopted the regional approach as well as the cropping approach in identifying and evaluating geographical factors, that affect the production of the crop and its distribution at the sub-district level. The study relied on two sources to gather information and statistical indicators: Library studies: which include books, theses, university theses, research, and geographical and non-geographical periodicals, as well as the published and unpublished data available in libraries and official departments. Field study: Observation, direct observation, and personal interviews. The research consists of a theoretical framework that deals with an introduction, a problem, the importance of the research, its methodology, and two chapters, the first chapter deals with the geographical factors affecting wheat production, represented by natural and human factors, as well as life factors. The second chapter examines the analysis of wheat production and its distribution, the quantities of production marketed to the granaries, and the extent to which self-sufficiency is achieved in the governorate and neighboring governorates, as well as conclusions and suggestions.
