Abstract

The current research aims to know (metacognitive skills among students of Arabic language departments in the faculties of basic education), and the research community may be from the faculties of basic education throughout Iraq, A measure of metacognitive skills consisting of five areas (awareness, self-monitoring, review and self-evaluation, control and self-control, problem solving, goals and planning). The researcher has confirmed its validity and reliability The researcher also used the following statistical methods (chi-square, Pearson correlation coefficient, Alpha Cronbach researcher, one-sample t-test), Meta-knowledge by holding workshops for teachers. He also suggested including the Arabic language curricula in the faculties of basic education to meta-knowledge skills.
