Plastic Surgery and The Physician's Civil Liability Arising Therefrom

Abstract

One of the most popular medical activities in our time is the plastic surgery, and there is a great and increasing demand for cosmetic medical operations. This resulted in an urgent need to research the plastic surgeon’s civil liability in order to address the problems and questions about the plastic surgeon’s civil liability in Iraqi law. Accordingly, this study came to examine the nature of cosmetic medical work and the civil liability of the plastic surgeon as a result of medical mistakes in cosmetic operations. This topic was chosen for several reasons, including the importance of the topic, because it relates to the instinctive aspect of man, which is the affection of adornment and beautification triggered by global openness which contributed to growing it. This topic is one of the contemporary issues that are constantly renewed, as plastic surgery is one of the manifold surgeries under which many procedures fall under more than one medical specialty.
