Abstract

Using data from the Canadian Social Survey Programme (CAN-SSP), this research investigates the impact of education on Canadian attitudes about public spending. We discovered that education had a negative impact on Canadian attitudes about military and police funding. In particular, Canadians are 0.8 percentage points less likely to favor military funding and 1.1 percentage points less likely to favor police funding if they have one more year of schooling.
