The Development of the Participatory Short Film to Enhance Pride in the History of Community

Abstract

The objectives of the research were 1) to synthesize the events that happened in the community through a focus group and an in-depth interview, and 2) to undertake the participatory film shooting in which local residents participated in. The study found that the samples developed a positive attitude. They viewed that the participatory short film development was an activity which made the community members pay attention to their own background. Besides, the activities could create a good feeling to both new settlers and old-time residents. In addition, the activities bring the locals closer to their community history
