Smart Sustainable Cities; Contemporary Challenges and Constraints

Abstract

Smart cities are an innovative city or model for the development of our daily urban life, as well as an innovation for a technological environment that provides telecommunications, ICT strategy and innovative services. Smart city dwellers can access any application and control it through multiple functions. So, the intelligence principle in a smart city is more than just a simple adjective. It refers to an intelligent and attractive approach to building sustainable cities that combine infrastructure and technology as well as community engagement with a vision based on local conditions, capabilities and resources. The main findings of the study are that some cities in developing countries (underdeveloped, poor) may witness a significant transformation towards change and progress in many areas, including innovative planning, advanced engineering designs with life requirements, as well as the use of technology (modern technologies) to create a safe and environmentally friendly environment for all urban dwellers. Of course, this is done in accordance with existing planning standards for city planning, services and legal and institutional mechanisms and frameworks.
