Abstract

In the South of Vietnam, in the years before 1930, Nguyen An Ninh (1900-1943) was a figure of historical stature who made important contributions to the revolutionary cause of national liberation of the Vietnamese people in the first half of the 20th century. Nguyen An Ninh's thought on human rights was formed and developed from the objective requirements of the history - society of Vietnam and the world in the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Besides, Nguyen An Ninh's thought on human rights was also the inheritance and development of traditional values of the nation such as patriotism and solidarity of the Vietnamese people. Absorbing the core values of Eastern culture, typically the value systems of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, especially the ideology of "liberty - equality - charity" of the great bourgeois French revolution and the thought of the French Enlightenment, the spirit of Marxism-Leninism. It is these things that had greatly influenced Nguyen An Ninh's thought on human rights in order to liberate people. According to Nguyen An Ninh, human rights are inviolable, the content of human rights outlined by Nguyen An Ninh is related to the following rights: the right to life; equality; individual liberties; freedom of movement; Freedom of thought includes freedom of the press, freedoms of Speech, Assembly, Association. In the process of 35 years of renovation and integration, Vietnam has achieved great and solid achievements in human rights. That is not only reflected in Vietnam's efforts in building and perfecting the legal system but also in ensuring human rights and citizenship in all fields of social life. Faced with many opportunities and challenges in the process of integration and the impact of the 4th industrial revolution, continuing to study and research Nguyen An Ninh's thought in general, including the work on human rights is meaningful and necessary work in building and completing the human rights institution in Vietnam today.
