Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the characteristics of academic capitalism in Saudi universities from the point of view of the academic staff. The study used the descriptive design. The questionnaire was used to collect data. The sample of the study consists of (421) faculty members from the universities of King Saud, King Abdulaziz, and Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal. The results showed high views of the characteristics of academic capitalism in Saudi universities. These characteristics emerged through the new circuits of knowledge, followed by the expanded managerial capacity, then the intermediary organizations and networks, and finally the interstitial organizations within the Saudi universities.
