Abstract

Communities assume their social memory as the axis of collective and cultural identity; thus, traditional literature makes possible the respect for ancestors, the valuation of the context, the approximation between different generations and, in a special way, the recovery of the word. Therefore, this work, which is part of a doctoral dissertation, raises a proposal for teachers in training to strengthen their professional profile as future graduates in Language and Literature Pedagogy at the National University of Chimborazo, because from an inclusive pedagogy, oral tradition literature (mnemonic tradition) is used as an alternative canon, as an approach to research, as a strategy for the development of orality and as a starting point for the development of didactic techniques in the framework of the open curriculum. The qualitative approach methodology was based on a documentary analysis from a non-systematic review. Then, the ethnographic work allowed an approach to the context and the texts thanks to the application of consensual interviews with thirty key informants from rural parishes in the canton of Riobamba, whose results provided a main finding on the loss of oral tradition texts, since these were lost due to the scarcity of time and space for dialogue and the peripheral sense of these manifestations within the school tradition. On the basis of the experiences, the proposal emerged from three main axes: didactic, research and linking with the community
