Abstract

Groundwater recharge is a key factor in water balance studies, especially in semi-arid areas. In India, the Groundwater Evaluation Committee recommends various method to recharge. Agriculture plays an essential role in the process of economic development of less developed countries like India. In this paper, Ground water and Agriculture process in India especially for Karnataka is discussed in detail with latest agenda and government policy conducted by state and central government of India. This paper offers how to manage ground water and its recharge process with agriculture productivity improvement. All the issue and challenges with findings and recommendation are analysed.
