Natural Disaster Management In Indonesia Using Indonesian Armed Forces Leadership Model

Abstract

The natural disasters which have occurred in Indonesia in the last 10 years have caused enormous losses of people and property. All parties must be able to anticipate and overcome it. Victims of natural disasters actually do not need to occur in large numbers if good mitigation measures and fast handling have been carried out after a natural disaster has occurred. Therefore, a simple qualitative study was made to utilize the TNI's rapid motion management system in dealing with natural disasters that occurred. The study was focused on model of TNI’s leadership which consist of the following aspects such as; leader vision, education, training, guidance, subordinate skills, and subordinate support. The facts show that the fast movement, skill, team cohesiveness and command system in military management also their leadership can be relied on in the various natural disasters that have occurred in Indonesia in the last decades. The community and various parties really appreciate the success of the TNI’s in handling natural disasters.
