Abstract

  • Education does not only exist in schools but also must be able to occur in all aspects of life. This is because of the important role of education as a means to advance human civilization either directly or indirectly. In essence, the purpose of education is divided into two, namely to make students or students become knowledgeable and good people. If these two goals can be achieved, then human civilization in a nation must be more advanced than the previous year. This study aims to analyze the urgency of implementation of Integrated Holistic Education in the learning system in Indonesia. This study utilizes a literature review from previous studies that are relevant to this study. The data were taken from the articles, journal, Law, and Islamic Law. The literature review results show that, the implementation of holistic integrative education is important to be implemented immediately because the PHI curriculum aims to make students become complete human beings who have the ability in science, life-skills, and manners at the same time. The PHI curriculum education method is carried out by habituation of 7L (literacy) or 7 basic skills (spiritual skills, moral skills, intellectual skills, physical skills, interpersonal skills, cultural skills, and social awareness) and the application of 7M (observing, living, exploring, collaborating, actualizing, and serving) by students during the learning process at school. The correct implementation of the PHI curriculum must be able to cover the domains of knowledge, skills, and the realm of students' attitudes or manners at once. The results of the implementation of the PHI curriculum can be seen where students at this school apply good manners to fellow students as well as teachers and guests, and at the same time succeed in mastering lessons that are integrated with the life-skills that students need
