Abstract

The Methodology of Islamic Studies has been concerned by many islamicst for a long time. In its early stages Islamic studies received a very limited field and only studied in the context of the history of religions, comparative study of religions (religios or Wissenschaft) in general. This paper uses content analysis focused on Islamic studies in Indonesia. In its development The Methodology of Islamic Studies formulated by various approaches, adoption or based on specific scientific disciplines such as history, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, sociology also phenomenology. Islamic studies approach is an interesting passage in the Islamic sciences discourse, as it is directly related to the Divine area which is the fundamental value. Hence, this paper attempts to examine and explore some approaches of Islamic Studies with Indonesian as references to view what is the implication to the development of Islamic thought in modern community of Muslim thinking in Indonesia.
