Abstract

Parents and community involvement in the education sector is important to ensure the continuity of the success in education system. The government also plays a major role in delivering the best education system in the country. Nevertheless, with the support and encouragement from each parents and community, the education system can increase the education level in the country. This study identified a strong relationship between parents, community and school in helping the school to develop more in term of academic, cocurricular activities and facilities. An in-depth interview session was conducted among four parents in the school who were voluntarily to be involved in this study. They were chosen by a specific purposive sampling technique which the informants must be registered as one of the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) members in the school. The research analysis was conducted by using Atlas. Ti version 8.0. This is important to show the relation and linkages between each codes of the findings. The findings of this study shown that a strong relationship between parents, community and school members can create a good example to the pupils and create good communication interaction between the teachers and parents. The involvement of the community can also give a good impact to the pupils and school. It was encouraged by the parents too, for helping the school in conducting more meaningful and high impact program for the pupils. However, the study also revealed that there were few challenges arise during their involvement in the school programs conducted such as time, energy and involvement constraint. This study helps to guide other researchers and the authorities on the importance of parents and community involvement at schools.
