This study aimed to investigate the relationship between personality patterns and the degree of digital addiction among students of the upper basic stage and to reveal the effect of gender on this relationship. The study sample consisted of (371) male and female students, who were chosen in an intentional, random manner, from the upper basic stage of seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth grades who enrolled in the schools of the Southern Mazar District, for the educational year 2020/2019. a standard digital addiction and personality patterns scales were used, to reveal the degree of digital addictive and personality patterns. The results showed a low-level digital addiction belongs to the sample of the study, and that the males are more addictive than females, and that there are significant differences of digital addiction for the study sample members are attributed to gender, in favor of the males. The results indicated also a significant relationship between personality patterns and degrees of digital addiction among the sample members, also showed that the individuals whose personalities tend to the pattern D scored higher degrees in digital addiction, and there is a relationship between personality type and gender. The recommendations indicated that the study is useful for those whose work in the field of psychology, psychological counseling, and education in their jobs, and it’s important to paying attention to adolescents' personality patterns, when developing treatment plans and developing students' behaviors or achievement, especially in Arab countries.
